5 Below Deck Cast Members Who Were Accused Of Being Bullies

Below Deck has had several cast members across all its franchises that were characterized as bullies due to their behavior on the show. Although yachting can be fun, adventurous, and exciting, a lot of work goes into a successful yachting season. Most of the hard work is done by the crew, and in Below Deck, crews across the franchise try to create a memorable yachting season. Still, one of the huge determiners of a successful yachting season is how perfectly the crew works together.

Nonetheless, due to the complexities of assembling a new cast every season, the crew sometimes struggles to get along. While it takes time to get used to working with new people in a team, these Below Deck cast members are required to work through their differences as the season progresses. As a result, the crew members sometimes clash with one another, often leading to some being accused of bullying.

Did You Miss This in 'You' Season 4? #shorts

Below Deck alum Ashton Pienaar had a lot of expectations riding on his back when he debuted on Below Deck season 7 as the new bosun. Ashton, who had appeared as a deckhand during the season prior, aimed to prove he deserved his bosun role; however, the opposite happened. During the early stage of the season, a potential romantic relationship with Chief Stew Kate Chastain caught the fanbase's attention. However, all his goodwill disappeared when things started getting heated between him and Kate. First, there were accusations that their kissing scenes were not all consensual.

Also, their relationship started deteriorating due to constant clashes over management styles. Sadly, their feud peaked during the crew's night out when Ashton became confrontational ad started punching the car door during their car ride back. Their clashes and Ashton's bullying later prompted Kate to leave the series. Although Ashton later apologized for his behavior, Kate and Captain Lee Rosbach didn't believe he was truly remorseful, according to Cheatsheet.

Although Kate was a victim of bullying during Below Deck season 7, she has also been accused of the same treatment by her subordinates. Since she debuted on Below Deck season 2, Kate has had issues with most of the stews she worked with. Although she was generally loved for her professionalism and fun personality, Kate struggled to lead her stews, especially the newbies. Her position as the leader required her to guide, teach and direct the stews under her to help perfectly execute their duties.

According to Reddit user xephos359, instead of being the leader who teaches, Kate constantly berates her subordinates. She would do this whenever they didn't perform as expected. Despite being one of the most popular cast members on the show, Kate's treatment of her subordinates was one of her less desirable traits on Below Deck.

Aesha Scott was Brittini Burton's bully partner in Below Deck Down Under. During the show's last few episodes, Aesha directed a "Yo, b****h" comment toward Jamie Sayed while eating alone in the crew mess. After Jamie explained he didn't like being called that, Aesha only replied condescendingly, saying, "You're a bit sensitive towards that." However, Aesha took her bullying further when she encouraged stewardess Magda Ziomek to call Jamie a "b****h."

Aesha later admitted she was wrong for encouraging Magda to call Jamie a word he didn't like. However, she still laughed at the bosun after he reported the name-calling to Captain Jason Chambers. While addressing the situation in an Instagram video, Jamie explained that Aesha and Brittini made him uncomfortable and that it was extra painful because it came from them.

Brittini was one of the new cast making her reality TV debut as a deckhand on Below Deck spin-off Below Deck Down Under. As the only woman on deck, Brittini had a lot of eyes on her from the start. However, despite a relatively stellar performance as a deckhand, Brittini was accused of bullying by Jamie, the show's bosun.

According to Jamie, Brittini and Aesha constantly called him a b***h, despite telling them to stop. The scene played out during the last few episodes of the series when Brittini called him a "b***h" while they were out drinking. Despite several telling off, Brittini continued calling Jamie the B-word until the bosun reported the issue to Captain Jason. Brittini then accused Jamie of making a "b****Y move" for reporting the incident. In an Instagram video about the incident, Jamie explained Brittini had made it hard for him to trust her since she refused to adhere to his boundaries.

Alissa Humber from Below Deck season 10 stands in front of harbor wearing uniform

When fans met Alissa Humber on Below Deck season 10, she was the second stew under the leadership of Chief Stew Fraser Olender. However, it was evident from the first episode that Alissa and deck/stew Camille Lamb would have issues working together. The two constantly clashed over their roles, with Camille complaining about how Alissa loved ordering her around. Alissa's constant feuding was part of what influenced Camille's firing later on in the season.

However, after Camille left, fellow stew Hayley De Sola Pinto became Alissa's next bullying victim. Like Camille, Alissa ordered Hayley around and even once called her a "pig." Nonetheless, Alissa's reign of terror ended when she disrespected Captain Sandy Yawn by intentionally calling her "Sandy" in front of the crew. The Captain would later give Alissa her marching orders to the delight of her costars. While the yachting industry can be difficult, bullying should never be condoned in any form. Hopefully, these sorts of behavior will reduce within the Below Deck franchise.
