The One Chicago franchise has lost a true great. In a tragic turn of events, it has been confirmed by People Magazine that Chicago Fire alum Treat Williams has passed away at the age of 71.
According to the original report, Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident on the afternoon of June 12. As Willaims’ longtime agent told the outlet, Williams was tragically struck by a vehicle that cut him off while he attempted to make a turn while on his motorcycle.
The news comes as a shock to the One Chicago fandom who fondly adored Williams, despite his often complicated character. Williams first originated the role of Benny Severide in the thirteenth episode of season 1 and would go on to appear in a number of episodes through season 7.
