The highly-anticipated season 2 of the series “Wednesday” could soon welcome a new member of the Addams Family, if we are to believe the hints dropped by the series’ cast at the “Tudum” event organized by Netflix. Jenna Ortega, Joy Sunday and Emma Myers hinted that viewers will soon see an iconic Addams Family character.
Nevertheless, they chose to keep the suspense alive by not revealing the identity of the newcomer. Jenna Ortega confided that she would like to see Cousin Machin join the series, while the other cast members expressed the wish to see Grandma Addams appear.
The cast also discussed some fan theories, including one concerning the fate of Gwendoline Christie, aka Professor Weems. Although this character was left for dead at the end of the first season, Jenna Ortega points out that viewers never attended her funeral, leaving doubt about her possible comeback in season 2 of Wednesday.
Some fans have also noticed an intriguing detail: at the end of the season, Butler Lurch appears to have a different eye color than when he first appeared. This change fuels the theory that Professor Weems, who is a shapeshifter, may have become Lurch to get closer to the Addams Family.
As for what happens next, the actors were discreet. Emma Myers, however, revealed that ” season 2 of Wednesday is currently being written, and the plot is so secret that even we don’t know what’s going to happen.” .
Whatever the case, season 2 of “Mercredi” promises to be full of surprises. Subscribers will have to be patient to find out whether Grandma Addams or Cousin Machin will join the most atypical family on the small screen.
