Where You've Seen Darius Walker From Chicago P.D.

Chicago P.D.'s Darius Walker was one of the show's most compelling characters, and the actor who played the role has a lengthy resume of recognizable parts. Coming as the second series in Dick Wolf's epic One Chicago franchise, Chicago P.D.

follows the officers of the fictional District 21 precinct as they tackle the many law enforcement challenges that the city throws their way. Setting itself apart from the usual procedural fare, Chicago P.D.'s character-driven focus allows for fascinating characters like Darius Walker to enter the mix, and the series never misses a chance to show both sides of the law.

Making his debut in Chicago P.D. season 7, episode 2, "Assets," Darius Walker is a ruthless drug kingpin from the Southside Hustlers who has become a police informant that uses his clout to rat on his former associates. Though the character didn't survive the season, he managed to make a mark on the show and was perhaps the most interesting element of that year's episodes. Though he departed Chicago P.D. after his shocking death in season 7, episode 12, "The Devil You Know," Walker joined a long list of notable characters who have helped to make Chicago P.D. another big hit for Wolf.

Darius Walker Actor Michael Beach Broke Out In Waiting To Exhale

John Harris argues with Bernadine in Waiting to Exhale

While he may not be a household name, Michael Beach graced the ensemble of Chicago P.D. when he played Darius Walker, but he is also remembered for his role in the 1990s romantic drama Waiting to Exhale. He appears as John Harris, the smarmy husband of Angela Bassett's Bernadine who left her for another woman. Though largely overshadowed by Bassett's towering performance as a woman scorned, Beach filled the role perfectly and excelled at playing a decidedly unlikable heel. Though the role of Darius Walker on Chicago P.D. had more layers than Beach's Waiting to Exhale character, he made a mark as a bad guy in a business suit nonetheless.

Beach Was A Member Of The Original Third Watch Cast

No stranger to shows like Chicago P.D., Michael Beach had previously made his mark on a procedural when he played the role of Monte "Doc" Parker in the first five seasons of The Third Watch. Debuting in 1999, the series followed police, firefighters, and paramedics who worked the night shift in New York City. Though he is exceptional at playing villains, Beach thrilled as the heroic-but-conflicted Parker, the paramedic captain who usually bore the emotional responsibility of his entire team. While the characters came from the opposite side of the law, Chicago P.D.'s Walker was an authority figure much in the same way that The Third Watch's Monte Parker was.

Beach Played T.O. Cross In Sons Of Anarchy

TO Cross looks on sternly in Sons of Anarchy

The long-running drama series Sons of Anarchy featured a wide array of characters, and Michael Beach played the pivotal recurring role of T.O. Cross throughout the show's third, fifth, and seventh seasons. He's the former president of the Grim Bastards Motorcycle Club, but little else is revealed about Cross other than his distaste of anyone calling him by his real first name. Yet another criminal underworld character for Michael Beach, Cross is nothing like the suave Darius Walker from Chicago P.D., as the Sons of Anarchy character preferred stern silence. Also, different from Walker, Cross maintained a sense of fairness that made him a vital SAMCRO member.
