Outlander’s Sam Heughan shares exciting announcement

Starz’s hit time-travelling drama Outlander will return to TV in June with the release of season seven. The drama will see Sam Heughan reprise his starring role as Jamie Fraser alongside his on-screen wife, Caitriona Balfe who portrays Claire Fraser. The upcoming instalment will arrive a little over a year after the season six finale.

Ahead of the season seven premiere, the actor took to social media to promote his upcoming appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy, Sad, Confused podcast. The exciting announcement was shared on Hueghan’s Instagram stories among his celebratory posts about his recent film, Love Again.

Outlander: Jamie and Claire

Hueghan had reposted Josh Horowitz’s Instagram post which revealed tickets were available for the live recording of his podcast.

At the event, the 43-year-old will be reunited with his co-stars as Caitriona, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will also be in attendance. As Josh teased: “These tickets will go fast” viewers rushed to his comment section with excitement and anticipation.

The host also assured fans: “If you can’t join us in person there is a virtual option,” as the podcast event is happening live in New York City. An excited @frozenshan commented: “Got my ticket!! Front row balcony baby!!”

As @nalemaro remarked: “This is going to be sensational!” Although bosses confirmed Outlander's seventh season will premiere on Friday, June 16, the instalment will be split into two parts, with the latter in 2024. Thankfully for fans, they were able to gain insight into the storyline as season seven will be an onscreen adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s novel, An Echo in the Bone.

Network boss Christina Davis has promised “more time travel” and an “adventurous” season seven, as the show follows “Claire and Jamie in America during the Revolution”.
