BBC Call the Midwife fans shocked as they notice rare 'mistake' in episode

As far as attention to detail goes in period dramas, Call the Midwife has always kept a seriously high standard as it navigates the years. This is part of what has kept the show so magical for 12 seasons in a row.

As a result there are few fans who can ever claim to have spotted a gaff or mistake within the show, helping to keep them immersed and engaged in all of the storylines that happen in the East End drama. However, one fan felt compelled to flag it to fellow viewers when she spotted a 'rare mistake' in the consistency of the programme which really 'stood out' to her and spoiled the immersion.Explaining on Facebook, she wrote: "I have watched every episode of this show at least six times and will continue to re-watch forever I'm sure. I love it so much!

"I did catch an oopsie though I think. When the nuns were looking at their bridal dresses they wore when they became nuns and Cynthia says she was saddened that the order changed the custom right before she became a nun as she had the ceremony in her habit.

"But then the following season (or maybe two) Nurse Frances and her colleagues are wearing bridal gowns that Sr. Hilda was ironing for them. I think this stands out to me because it's only one of two 'mistakes' I've noticed. The care they put into this show is unbelievable!"Meanwhile, in reacting to the error several other fans weighed in with some of their biggest gripes with the show. One wrote: "I researched how often it snows in London, because it seems every Christmas special it’s snowing. London receives very little snow!"
