Outlander’s Sam Heughan says season 7 will be the “best yet”

Outlander season 7 is just around the corner, only nine days away! The end of the Droughtlander is nigh.

As the premiere grows closer, the cast has been making the rounds to excite audiences. Just this week, the Outlander stars took to the show’s official Twitter account to share what we have to look forward to. Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, teased that season 7 will be the “best yet.”Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) and Richard Rankin (Roger MacKenzie) also sound off. Balfe said season 7 is “ramping up” while Rankin says that it’s “so action-packed.” Other words used to describe the seventh season include “bigger,” “epic,” and “betrayal.” Ohh, betrayal, huh?

Sam Heughan: Outlander’s penultimate season will be the “best yet”

If you didn’t know or are trying to forget like me, Outlander season 7 is the penultimate chapter in this saga. The series will end with the eighth season.

But after that, we have the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood to look forward to. It will follow the story of Jamie’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. Last we heard, Outlander author Diana Gabaldon had not been approached to help with the prequel series, but I imagine that will change considering how she’s been an integral part of the flagship show.

Anyway, in the seventh season, the American Revolutionary Way is finally here (yes, for reals) and the Frasers have a lot at stake. The official synopsis states, “Following the harrowing events of season six, Jamie and Young Ian race to rescue Claire before she’s tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie, but their mission is complicated by the beginning of a geopolitical firestorm: The American Revolution has arrived.”
