Jeremy Clarkson loses appeal for restaurant at Diddly Squat Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has partially won his high-profile planning battle to extend his farm.

The former Top Gear presenter lost an appeal against the decision by West Oxfordshire district council to refuse him to turn Diddly Squat Farm into a restaurant, but while Clarkson has been ordered to restore the existing barn structure back to its original form, he has obtained permission to expand the existing parking area for a three-year conditional period.

The proposal to create a restaurant featured on the Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, in which the Sunday Times columnist attempts to turn a profit from farming.

Clarkson proposed opening a restaurant to capitalise on the success of his farm shop, and formed a co-operative with neighbouring farmers to serve local produce.
